HOW TO SHOGA

1. BUY yourself a class or a discounted class pack.

2. BOOK YOUR SPOT in upcoming classes (pre-paid Shogies only)

3. Complete our NEW STUDENT FORM

4. Purchase a yoga mat ahead of your first class. It doesn’t need to be fancy – keep it simple ☺ If you forget your mat on occasion don’t worry, we have a few spare mats at the studio.

5. Wear comfortable clothes. We’ll sit for meditation and breathing (chairs are available), move around in postures and lie down (sitting is an option) for relaxation. Layers and comfortable moveable material will serve you best.

6. Arrive early with time to spare. We have limited spaces in each class and you want to make sure you have booked your mat space. You’re about to invest in yourself so avoid rushing in at the last minute. If you’re late we have a 5 minute grace period so don’t panic. Knock on the door and if we have space for you I’ll let you in. No need to apologies just calmly find yourself a space and settle in. If you’re more than 5minutes late don’t berate yourself, it’s not the end of world. Go and sit in nature or have a wander around a free gallery or museum. We’ll see you next time.

7. You don’t need any previous yoga experience or impressive flexibility to attend a SHOGA class. We won’t be tying ourselves up like pretzels! There are plenty of classes out there that focus on challenging physical postures. We’re going to focus on mind-body connection improving stress management, emotional regulation, sleep, digestion, intuition and self-awareness.

8. Keep coming back. Tell your theatre friends and colleagues about your experience and get them set up with a SHOGA class pack. Consistent practice in community will bring you greater and more lasting benefits. Happy you, happy them, happy days! ☺
